Thoughts on Words, Energy and Reality 🪄✨
During the ’vid years, I was very surprised by how people behaved. I understand why...the assault on our psychological senses was intense, and a lot of people, including our kids, were petrified.
I learned a lot about people during that period. I know who I wouldn’t take advice from if I were on a ship that was going down 🚢. Others, I fervently admired.
I also learned a lot more about words and how easily they can be used to influence and manipulate people. You can often tell when a particular narrative or directive has come from up high because suddenly you hear the same carefully crafted words being repeated across the media. Words are powerful.
A few days ago, I saw a post filled with hate and vitriol, and it was liked by a lot of people I know. That same day, I’d written a rather frosty response to another post. Later, a stranger yelled at me in real life. 😬
What I’ve learned about myself is that if I’m angry, focusing on bad things and determined to make sure everyone knows exactly what I think, I give off a negative vibe. And I believe that energy has a funny way of coming back in kind. 🔄
Over time, I’ve come to agree with the idea that “your word is your wand.” 🪄 IYKYK.
I know how to ramp up reactions on social platforms. Being a bit caustic certainly helps. 🔥 But the spitfire that comes from clickbait is exhausting and I don't enjoy it.
So I’m trying really hard to write thoughtful posts that are also entertaining. Posts that make people think.
I don’t have all the answers, but generally I’m happy, I’m not consumed by anxiety, I feel healthy, magic happens and I sleep pretty well so I must be doing something right.
And in real life, I try to focus more of my attention on the good things that are happening. Because in my world, there is a lot more good going on than bad. ❤️
And weirdly, when I live like this, everything seems to flow better. Good news comes in. Things fall into place. They say you get what you give. There’s also that slightly darker version: live by the sword, die by the sword. ⚔️
